PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast program recording system capable of simultaneously recording a broadcast signal of each formats in broadcasting the same program at different formats. SOLUTION: An operation terminal apparatus 113 searches a corresponding material from among HD/SD materials to be recorded in a material management server 112 on the basis of a material code to be designated by recording indicating data, causes an HD/SD-VTR group 13 to reproduce the corresponding material, and generates the SD material and the HD material by a video converter 115. In this case, if a format code added to the material code is S, the apparatus 113 causes a program recording server 114 to record only the designated SD material, if it is H, causes the server 114 to record only the designated HD material, and if it is W, causes the server 114 to record the designated SD and HD materials.
