PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver circuit capable of reducing a loss caused by an excessive base current, by varying the base current depending on a collector current. SOLUTION: A circuit for detecting a saturation voltage of a power transistor, and for controlling the base current for driving the power transistor, is added. Namely, in a driver circuit for driving the power transistor by periodically varying the collector current, between a current source and the collector of the power transistor, a plurality of transistors short-circuiting between the collectors and the bases are connected in series.
