PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature compensated crystal oscillator which is easily handled and is excellent in productivity. SOLUTION: The temperature compensated crystal oscillator is configured in such a way that a hermetically sealed crystal resonance element and an IC element for outputting an oscillation signal corresponding to the oscillation frequency of the crystal resonance element, on the basis of temperature compensation data while correcting the signal are juxtaposed on the top surface of a packaging base; and the surface of the IC element is covered with a resin material. In this oscillator, a plurality of metal posts electrically connected to the IC element and used as a writing control terminal of the temperature compensation data is attached on the top surface of the packaging base, the resin material is extended to the attaching region of the metal posts, and the surface of each of the metal posts is coated with the extending portion so that one part of the surface may be exposed.
