PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can selectively carry out black-and-white printing and color printing according to need. SOLUTION: The image forming device is connectable to a plurality of terminal devices, and can carry out black-and-white printing and color printing. The image forming device has: a print data receiving section for receiving print data from the terminal devices; a color ratio calculating section for calculating a color ratio indicative of the ratio of color printing to black-and-white printing, based on the print data received by the print data receiving section; and a print control section for comparing the color ratio calculated by the color ratio calculating section with a ratio reference value, and carrying out color printing when the color ratio is equal to or above the ratio reference value, or carrying out black-and-white printing when the color ratio is below the ratio reference value.
