PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus having high cooling effects in spite of a small diameter, inserted through a small hole into the interior of an oven at a high temperature and accurately observing the interior. SOLUTION: This apparatus for observing the interior of the oven is equipped with the following. A camera case 2 is mounted at the tip of a shell tube 1 and a camera 5 is housed in the interior of the camera case. A water-cooled jacket 3 is attached to the outer periphery of the camera case so as to provide an outside covering. A tip lid member 4 having a window hole 41 on the side and a mirror 46 for directing incident rays of light from the window hole toward the camera mounted in the interior thereof is installed at the tip of the camera case. A piece of heat-resistant glass 42 is mounted in the window hole and an air supply pipe for air-cooling the camera is connected to the side of a base end of the camera case.
