PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airborne ion generator capable of generating airborne ions with smaller diameters at high efficiency, and sufficiently emitting and diffusing the ions into air, and an air conditioner having the same.SOLUTION: An airborne ion generator includes a longitudinal duct case 15 with an ion diffuser 16 opened at a lower end, an ion generation unit 19 arranged in a vicinity of the ion diffuser 16 in the duct case 15, and a mist generation unit 21 which is arranged in an upper part of the ion generation unit 19 to obtain super-fine mist by making a water content in the air condensed on a cooling surface side of a Peltier element 22 pass through a permeable film 25. Airborne ions are generated by adding negative ions generated by the ion generation unit 19 to the super-fine mist generated by the mist generation unit 21, and emitted into the air from the ion diffuser 16. |
