<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective preventing or treating means for hepatic fibrosis, and also to obtain a hepatic fibrosis inhibitory agent capable of becoming the treating means, a medicinal composition, a food and drink. <P>SOLUTION: This hepatic fibrosis inhibitory agent contains a shiitake mushroom (Lentinus edodes) mycelia extract or its fractionated substance. A hepatic protecting agent having the effect of inhibiting the hepatic fibrosis contains the shiitake mushroom mycelia extract or its fractionated substance.
