PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleeve for optical communication which realize low connection loss of optical connection by surely removing dust of a ferrule to hold the ferrule with a high precision. SOLUTION: The sleeve 3 for optical communication, which is used for inserting and holding a ferrule 24, is provided with a fitting member 1 which has a slide surface 1b projecting from an inside peripheral surface of the other parts at least in a part. Thus, dust on the surface of the ferrule 24 is removed by slide on the fitting member 1 and is prevented from penetrating the sleeve 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
