<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process cartridge in which damage to an image carrier can be prevented by a simple constitution without a cost increase and miniaturization can be realized, and to provide an image forming apparatus which can be miniaturized by attaching the process cartridge to the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The process cartridge 19 is provided with a front shoot 42 which supports the underside of paper 3 in front of the process cartridge 19 and guides the paper to a nip position between a photoreceptor drum 21 and a transfer roller 34. Thus, without a cost increase as in the case where a shutter is provided, it makes it possible for the front shoot 42 to reduce exposure of the photoreceptor drum 21 when the process cartridge 19 is separated from a main body casing 2.
