Adapter for mounting objects in vehicles, e.g. relatively heavy objects such as portable computers within the driver cabin of a commercial or industrial vehicle. Mounting of the adapter takes place in a drinks holder opening. The adapter (1) has a conical foot part (2) with a stopping chamfer. On the upper end of the foot part is a clamping edge (7) with a clamping spring (8).
