Connector for spacer profiles in insulating glazing

The insert connector has a wall which when the connector is inserted in the profiled strip is spaced from an adjoining outwardly directed strip wall section so that a top plate extends spaced from the edge of the wall to the adjoining edge. A butyl adhesive is inserted between the wall and the top plate to fill out underneath the strip wall sections of the two strips which meet either side of the join (13) thereby passing through the join to connect with the outer Thiokol. The supports (11) for the top plate are originally inserted in the wall of the connector and/or are injection moulded on same and are removed or sheared off by the inserted profiled strips.
