A one-piece, tubular filter element, e.g. of triangular cross-section, is formed of panels of a V-pleated (2) filter fabric, sealed between permeable end sections (5),which are of similar height to the pleats, and the panels are linked together along the edge-pleat folds (17). End sections may be injection moulded plastics. An independent claim is included for assembling the filter.
