A one part receptacle (1) for a fastener (13) for insertion, in use, into a hole (10) in a receiving component (11). The receptable comprises a base (2) with legs (3), at least one of the legs (3) retaining the receptacle (1) on the component (11) in use. The base (2) includes a hole (4) for engaging, in use, with the fastener (13), and at least one leg (6) is shaped to form a compliant mechanism which provides a compliant retaining force in the direction of insertion of the fastener. In use, the receptacle (1) is inserted into the hole (10) and retained thereon and provides compliance between the component (11) on which it is retained and a second component (12) attached thereto via the receptacle (1) and fastener (13). <IMAGE>
