The invention relates to a composition of soluble edible fibres employed as a food supplement for regulating the intestinal transit, reducing the serous cholesterol and ameliorating certain forms of cancer, and to a process for preparing said composition. According to the invention, the composition comprises 20...60 parts of pectine, 20...60 parts of soluble cellulose derivatives, 3...4 parts of baking soda, 4...5 parts of alginic acid or 3...4 parts of polyacrylic acid, 0.8...1.0 parts of lecitin, 0.15...0.20 parts of methylparabene and 0.1...0.15 parts of propylparabene, the parts being expressed by weight. The claimed process comprises the following steps: reducing the moisture of pectine, soluble cellulose derivatives and alginic or polyacrylic acid up to less than 9%, under average vacuum, at a temperature of 75...80 C, mixing the above-mentioned hydrocolloids with baking soda and an alcoholic solution prepared by dissolving lecitin, methylparabene and propylparabene in ethyl alcohol, then wet graining the resulting mixture, drying it in two stages and distributing the grained product into operculated capsules. |
