Thieno[2,3-D]pyrimidines with combined LH and FSH agonistic activity

Thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives of formula (I) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are disclosed, wherein R1 and R2 together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded form a heterocycloalkyl ring having 2-6 carbon atoms, optionally containing one or more heteroatoms selected from N, O and S. These compounds of formula (I) have Luteinizing Hormone (LH) as well as Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) receptor activating agonistic activity and can be used in fertility regulating therapies.
