PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot air type heater capable of suppressing NOx and NO<SB>2</SB>components in combustion exhaust gas. SOLUTION: This hot air type heater is provided with an air blowing propeller fan 3; a combustion cylinder 4 having a combustor 5 and a cylindrical combustion ring 9 provided to surround the combustor 5, at an internal lower part and provided with an air intake 10 at a side face lower part to take in air from the fan 3; and an air guide 11 provided between the combustion cylinder 4 and the combustion ring 9 to guide the air flowing in from the air intake 10, to the combustion ring 9. The air guide 11 is circumferentially provided to project toward the combustion ring 9 from the internal wall of the combustion cylinder 4, and constituted such that the position of the tip 11a is lower than the height position of the combustion ring 9.
