PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication controlling device in which operability is improved and power is saved by effectively controlling a power supply in small-power communication, where an access point is installed in a limited area, such as radio LAN; and to provide a method for controlling the radio communication controlling device. SOLUTION: It is determined whether an own apparatus is positioned in the communication area of the access point in a small-power communication radio section 30 provided in the radio communication controlling device 100, by performing setting in advance and comparing communication area information in the access point with detected terminal position information.
