<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking mechanism and an unlocking mechanism for an balanced transmission cable connector, in which the mechanisms are composed not to become bulky, so that down-sizing can be materialized. <P>SOLUTION: This connector is provided with a contact assembly 31, a shield cover assembly 50, an outer cover assembly 80, the locking mechanism 90, and the unlocking mechanism 100, while edges of cable 200 for balanced transmission are connected. The locking mechanism 90 is installed at the contact assembly 31, positioned inside the shield cover assembly 50. Hooking parts 91b, 92b are protruded in the Z1 direction.
