摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of NOx without deteriorating fuel economy and emission of noxious component other than NOx in a vehicular internal combustion engine equipped with a fuel cut device and a catalyst controlling exhaust emission. SOLUTION: When fuel cut is canceled (YES in step S101) and rotation speed is a predetermined speed or higher (Yes in step S102), instantaneous suction air quantity Ga is read (step S103), an accumulation value SUMGa is calculated (step S104), ignition timing retard amount RETGa in relation to the instantaneous suction air quantity Ga is calculated (step S105), and it is determined whether the accumulation value SUMGa of the suction air quantity Ga is larger than a predetermined value ASUMGa or not (step S106). In case of an affirmative judgment, process is completed after ignition timing is retarded by only the ignition timing retard amount RETGa (step S107).
