<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiband antenna used for a multiband wireless communication unit mainly using microwaves and millimeter waves that is suitable for mass-productivity and downsized. <P>SOLUTION: Input output ports 104 separated by an input output gap 102 are formed to a dielectric chip 101 the surface of which is covered by metallic electrodes, and first, second and third slits 105a, 105b, 107a, 107b, 109a, 109b are formed to the metallic electrodes to form first helical electrode parts 106a, 106b with 1/4 wavelength at a second frequency f2, second helical electrode parts 108a, 108b for passing through a signal at a first frequency band f1 and blocking a signal at the second frequency band f2, and an antenna electrode 103 the total electric length at the frequency band f1 is 1/2 wavelength. Thus, the antenna operation equivalent to that of a balanced feeding half wavelength dipole antenna at the first and second frequency bands f1, f2 can provide excellent antenna characteristics. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
