<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical sound generation apparatus of which the apparatus configuration is not complicated, and which is easily applied to a small-sized mobile terminal such as a portable telephone set and capable of representing rich and high-quality sounds. <P>SOLUTION: A musical sound generation apparatus comprises: a plurality of sound sources (34, 35) of different sound source systems for generating out musical sound signals in accordance with musical sound information when pieces of musical sound information relating to one sound are simultaneously supplied; a mixing section (38) for mixing the musical sound signals outputted from the sound sources and outputting them; and tone data storage sections (36, 37) for supplying, to the sound sources, tone data corresponding to tone type information contained in musical sound information when the musical sound information is supplied.
