PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device for providing a route corresponding with the current status of each driver, and to provide a route searching method and a program. SOLUTION: This navigation device 1, equipped with the function of searching for a route to a set destination and of performing guidance to a guide route corresponding to a search result, is equipped with a route searching/processing part 26 to search for a route in a prescribed first area by using prescribed search conditions peculiar to a user while searching for a route in a second area different from the first area by using prescribed recommended search conditions. Further, the searching/processing part 26 distinguishes between the first and second areas in consideration of travel records of a vehicle, search conditions set in the past, and registered descriptions. In the first area frequently traveled by the user, a route is searched for by using the search conditions peculiar to the user. In the second area not very frequently traveled by the user, a route is searched for by using the search conditions recommended by the navigation device.
