PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray planar detector which can fully reduce the dark current. SOLUTION: The X-ray planar detector comprises an X-ray charge conversion film containing a metallic halide for converting an incident X ray to a charge, a pair of electrodes provided on both surfaces of the X-ray charge conversion film, and a blocking layer contacted with at least one surface of the X-ray charge conversion film containing a metallic oxide or a nitride of the metallic halide, a mixture of the oxide and the nitride, or a mixture of the oxide or the nitride and the metallic halide.
