The illuminant has proximal and distal burner connections (19, 20), which are diametrically connected with respective proximal and distal end areas of a bulb (17) from a burner. Supply lines (23, 24) are led into the bulb via a U-shaped squeezer and are connected with the respective connections. The squeezer has an additional open space (26) into which the connection (19) and burner are inserted. An independent claim is also included for a reflector lamp comprising an outer jacket built as a reflector.
