The seat (2) is joined with a transversal bar, forming a first rotation axle (4), to two lateral elements (5). Each of those elements (5) is provided with a semicircular slot (7, 8) serving as a guide for a bolt (9) laterally protruding from the seat area (2). When the storage space in the vehicle is to be increased the seat (1) is pulled to the back and the seat area (2) rotated around the bolt (9). The backrest (3) is folded flat in front of the seat area (2), both parts (2, 3) resting on their front surfaces.
