<p>An air conditioner having a first compression mechanism of fixed capacity type and a second compression mechanism of variable capacity type both independent of each other in a refrigeration cycle and comprising second compression mechanism capacity control means, compression mechanism operation switching control means, a cooling medium evaporator, a condenser, a blower, and a second compression mechanism feedforward compression capacity computing means. The air conditioner is characterized in that the compression capacity calculating means computes the compression capacities during single operation of the second compression mechanism and during simultaneous operation of the first and second compression mechanisms by using different computing equations. Optimum feedforward or/and feedback control are carried out in any of different operating states. As a result, stable adequate air-conditioning control is possible for required cooling performance.</p> |
