<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which can supply electric power stably in all temperature conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell comprises an anode 14, a cathode 16, an electrolyte membrane 12, a gas diffusion layer 18 and a separator 22 installed on the side where the electrolyte membrane 12 of the anode 14 is not installed, a gas diffusion layer 20 and a separator 24 installed on the side where the electrolyte membrane 12 of the cathode 16 is not installed, a temperature sensor 34 for measuring at least the temperature in the vicinity of the cathode, thermoelectric transducers 30, 32 which are installed so as to be capable of heating and cooling at least the gas diffusion layers 18, 20 and the separators 22, 24 and convert the supplied power into thermal energy, a DC power source 26 for supplying power to the thermoelectric transducers 30, 32, and a control device 28 which controls the electric power supplied from the DC power source 26 to the thermoelectric transducers 30, 32 according to the temperature measured by the temperature sensor 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
