<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method by which a ceramic body having a diaphragm structure in which the deflection in a thin-walled part is small; and to provide a firing tool. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the ceramic body includes a process for firing formed body having a diaphragm structure which has thick-walled parts and a plate-like thin-walled part and in which the thick-walled parts and the thin-walled part are arranged so that a recessed part or a dead space is formed by the thick-walled parts and the thin-walled part. In the method for producing the ceramic body, firing is started after arranging a heat buffering member in a position capable of covering the thin-walled part in a contact state or in a non-contact state. The firing tool has a heat buffering part formed from a porous ceramic, a spacer arranged on one surface of the heat buffering part, and a weight control part arranged through the spacer without being brought into contact with the heat buffering part.
