PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device, in which size of guide rails for a car and guide rails for a counterweight can be reduced without applying excessive vertical loads on the guide rails. SOLUTION: This elevator device is provided with a car that moves up and down in an elevator shaft, the guide rails for a car to guide the car, a counterweight to move up and down in the elevator shaft in the opposite direction to the car, the guide rails for a counterweight to guide the counterweight, a winch having a drive pulley, a main cable wound around the drive pulley to suspend the car and the counterweight, and a lifting beam provided on a fixed member of the elevator shaft at a top part of it for lifting upper devices when the elevator device is installed.
