The invention relates to a cage comprising a disposable structure, of the type consisting of a base, lateral walls, a roof and a floor, to which a straight or uneven front grille is fixed. The invention is characterised in that the structure is produced by folding a die-cut laminar template of disposable and/or recyclable material. The template comprises the base having the following elements extending therefrom, namely: an upper roof-forming projection; a lower floor-forming projection; and successive lateral projections which form the walls of the structure when folded, the end lateral projections being equipped with flanges which are inserted into the base and a separate lower part which is also provided with lower flanges. Moreover, extensions extend from both sides of the floor- and roof-forming projections, which are held in place by folding the two successive projections that form the walls of the structure. The floor comprises four successive front-end extensions, whereby the first two extensions form a baseplate when folded and the remaining two extensions form a fold which defines a feed tub between the second and third extensions. In addition, the ends of the second and fourth extensions are equipped with flanges which are inserted into notches in the floor. The fold between the first and second baseplate-defining extensions internally houses the separate lower parts of the lateral end projections from the base, the flanges thereof being inserted into notches in the base. Furthermore, the feed tub-forming floor extensions are provided with notches for the insertion of flanges belonging to a laminar part containing holes through which birds can pass their heads in order to eat. The successive lateral projections from the base, which form at least one of the walls of the structure, comprise flaps which have been partially die-cut in a corresponding manner and which are disposed in line with notches in the respective lateral extensions of the floor and roof. Some of the bars of the grille are extended such that they can be partially inserted in and/or attached to the walls, roof and/or floor of the structure. Furthermore, the outline of a hole for hanging the cage is die-cut into the base of the structure.
