PARAPHRASE RULE FORMATION PROGRAM, RECORDING MEDIUM RECORDING THIS PROGRAM, AND COMPUTER PROGRAMMED BY THIS PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily collect paraphrase rules of synonymous expressions differed in vocabulary and in structure.

SOLUTION: The method realized by the paraphrase rule formation program comprises a document preparation step 60 for preparing two computer-readable documents created in the same predetermined language, which can establish a corresponding relationship between sentences; a calculation step 62 for calculating the similarity between corresponding sentences of the two documents; a step 66 for extracting a pair of sentences in which the value obtained by normalizing the calculated similarity within the range of 0 to 1 is 0 to 0.1; and a step 68 for generating, based on the extracted pair of sentences, a semantic paraphrase rule 80 in the predetermined language.
