PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink delivery device that prevents an ink ribbon from sagging at the time when the outside diameter of the ink ribbon mounted on a shaft is large and prevents the ink ribbon from getting damaged at the time when the outside diameter of the ink ribbon has decreased. SOLUTION: The ink ribbon delivery device delivering the ink ribbon to print a printing paper sheet, has an ink ribbon outside diameter detection means displacing in accordance with the outside diameter of the ink ribbon winding shaft or the ink ribbon mounted on the ink ribbon shaft, a plurality of switching elements controlled so as to turn on and off in accordance with the displacement position of the ink ribbon outside diameter detection means and a control circuit to control a braking force addition means in accordance with a combination of turning on and off of the switching elements and minimizes a change in the back tension of the ink ribbon due to a change in the diameter of the ink ribbon wound.
