PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a less-invasive, safe and effective sustained-release preparation which is administered through the inner ear, eye, brain or spinal cord and can be applied to human clinical settings. SOLUTION: The sustained-release preparation for neurotization and neuroprotection contains a neurotrophic factor or a DNA encoding the same and a bioabsorbable polymer hydrogel. Particularly, the sustained-release preparation is suitable for administration through the inner ear, eye, brain or spinal cord. Preferably, the bioabsorbable polymer hydrogel is a gelatin hydrogel. The sustained-release preparation is useful for protecting or regenerating cochlear sensory cells or spiral ganglion cells in the ear, and optic nerves, cerebrospinal nerves, or the like in the eye.
