PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate arsenic and antimony, which are impurities in phosphoric acid, to thereby enable high-purity phosphoric acid to be prepared. SOLUTION: Arsenic and antimony, which are impurities in phosphoric acid, are eliminated by generating their gaseous hydrides (arsine and stibine) by hydrogenation using a catalyst.
