<p>The present invention is to provide a recyclable water-soluble transition metal complex catalyst which is a novel metal complex catalyst capable of producing an optically active alcohol from a ketone with good yield and good optical purity, and which can be used in an aqueous solvent, and can be easily separated from the reaction product after reaction by a liquid separation means or the like. The present invention provides a water-soluble transition metal-diamine complex represented by the following formula (1): (wherein R<1> and R<2> each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group, -SO2R<13> (provided that R<13> represents a hydrocarbon group, a substituted amino group or the like) or the like, R<3> to R<12> each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, -SO3R<14> (provided that R<14> represents a hydrogen atom or a metal atom) or the like, M represents a transition metal, X represents a halogen atom and L represents a ligand, provided that at least one of R<3> to R<12> is -SO3R<14>), particularly the complex which is an optically active compound, and a method for producing an optically active secondary alcohol using the same.</p> |
