PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in the temperature of injector leaking fuel by restricting fuel injection pressure without lowering a smoke exhaust level. SOLUTION: This fuel injection control device for a diesel engine allows the forcible feed of fuel in a common rail from a fuel pump so that fuel pressure in the common rail is a basic fuel pressure value set corresponding to the operated condition. When the fuel pressure in the common rail is made lower than the basic fuel pressure value, a fuel injection start timing is controlled to advance (S11-S19) from a basic fuel injection start timing which is calculated in accordance with a basic fuel injection amount and the basic fuel pressure value.
