The thermostat valve, in the cooling circuit of an internal combustion motor, has a main thermostat element (30) to operate the closure (22,24) to open/close the main path through the radiator and to open/close a bypass path skirting the radiator, according to the coolant temperature and close the bypass if the coolant is too hot. An additional system (26,36-38) opens/closes the bypass to warm up the motor, as long as the bypass has not been closed by the main thermostat element.
|
