摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for controlling vehicle stability using some predictable algorithms and a selection method. SOLUTION: The system for controlling the vehicle stability comprises a means for imparting a longitudinal force to a tire, and a means for calculating a slip G<SP>Opt</SP>by determining a value of a coefficient of frictionμ<SB>i</SB>for each slip G<SB>i</SB>corresponding to successive levels "i". As many target values G<SP>Cn</SP>as the algorithms used can be obtained by using in parallel "n" pieces of calculation algorithms each determining the target value of the slip. The best of the target values G<SP>Cn</SP>is selected as the optimum slip value G<SP>Opt</SP>by comparing the "n" pieces of target values G<SP>Cn</SP>with the elimination of the minimum likely target values as a purpose. The comparison is made on the basis of a function f(λ) of a descriptor of a physical function of the rotation of the tire on a road surface, thus enabling a characteristic value to be calculated.
