Disclosed herein is a syringe assembly comprising a barrel (12) with an outlet portion (14), the outlet portion including an outlet passage (16), a plunger (18) slidably mounted in the barrel and valve means (20) for controlling the transfer of material through the outlet passage, the valve means including a valve portion (22) movable along the barrel between a first position within the outlet passage to block transfer of material there through and a second position to allow transfer of material through the outlet passage; and valve actuating means (24) mounted on the barrel for movement relative to a neutral position to displace the valve portion between the first and second positions.
