PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckle for a belt and a belt which do not tighten up the body of a wearer more than necessary when the belt is fitted on or removed, and at the same time, are easy of the operation. SOLUTION: This buckle 1 for the belt is constituted of a buckle body 30 and a belt body attaching member 20. In this case, the buckle body 30 has a front surface section 2, a belt body fastening section 3 which is arranged on the rear side of the front surface section 2 with a specified interval, and a fastening member 5 for fixing a belt body 13 which is passed through a space between the belt body fastening section 3 and the front surface section 2 at a predetermined position. The fastening member 5 is constituted in a manner to be placed under a fastened state by urging a fastening projection 6 to the belt body 13. At the same time, for the buckle body 30, an operation tab 14 for releasing the fastened state of the fastening protrusion 6 is provided in such a manner that the end may project outside of the range on the rear side of the front surface section 2. The belt body attaching member 20 is provided on the end section on the belt body 13 side of the buckle body 30 so that the buckle body 30 may turn toward the front surface section 2.
