PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an image easily separating water from fat with a short scanning time. SOLUTION: This MR-imaging method is so constituted as to (1) perform the following pulse sequence for imaging a phase difference between the water and the fat included in a subject in a single quadrature relation, (2) collect echo signals from the subject, (3) process the collected echo signals with a two-dimensional Fourier transformation and generate a tomogram, (4) apply a single quadrature fat water imaging (SQFWI) method to the transformed data and compensate nonuniformity of a static magnetic filed, and (5) separate the water from the fat, which is in the quadrature relation as the compensated result and reconstruct it into an intended image. The pulse sequence is TR=T<SB>IP</SB>×m and TE=T<SB>IP</SB>×(m-1±1/n) in a steady-state free precession (SSFP) state, wherein TR is a repetition time, T<SB>IP</SB>is an in-phase time, TE is an echo time of a positive number, (m) is a natural number, and (n) is a natural number of 3 or more.
