The invention concerns a radiant burner for combustion of an oxygen-containing gas and a fuel, comprising: a space for distribution and combustion of the oxygen-containing gas and the fuel; means for injecting oxygen-containing gas and fuel in the distribution and combustion space, one of the injection means generating a main flow of the oxygen-containing gas or of the fuel in the distribution and combustion space; a refractory ceramic porous medium at least partly in contact with the distribution and combustion space; a refractory ceramic gas impermeable emitting wall surrounding the porous medium, and wherein the number of injection means other than the one generating a main flow in the distribution and combustion space is optimized.
