The present invention relates to a method for locating and eliminating leakages in oil wells, which is based on the measurement and identification of signals produced by elastic mechanical vibrations typical of leakage points in order to be eliminated. The purpose of the invention is to eliminate the environmental impact caused by hydrocarbon leakages of oil wells and, thereby allowing the useful life of said wells to be extended at a lower cost than that of the traditional methods currently available on the market.
