PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of an HDD by controlling the timing of command end notification. SOLUTION: The transmission of command end notification to a host 110 is managed by a host interface manager 221. When the respective addresses of write data for two queued write commands continue, or when those respective addresses are near and a magnetic disk is accessible without waiting for circulation, a host interface manager 221 postpones the transmission of a command end command (X) to the first write command (X), and after ending the transfer of write data (Y) of the next command and the writing of the date to media, the host interface manager 221 simultaneously performs end notification (X) and (Y) of the two commands.
