PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably and easily carry out inspection of a smoke sensor. SOLUTION: An elevator control device is made to shift to a smoke sensor inspection mode for inspecting operation of the smoke sensor 1 provided near a top part of an elevator shaft 2 by a smoke sensor inspection operating means. According to travel/stop of an elevator car 1 to/at the uppermost landing floor by the shift to the smoke sensor inspection mode, an inspection port 13 for inspecting the smoke sensor provided on a ceiling of the car is opened and the smoke sensor 8 is illuminated by a lighting system 14 provided on the elevator car 1. According to release of the smoke sensor inspection mode, the inspection port 13 for inspecting the smoke sensor is closed and the illumination of the lighting system 14 to the smoke sensor 8 is turned off.
