<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent noise generated by a collision between a force transmission rod and a diaphragm in a spring type brake actuator. <P>SOLUTION: A first diaphragm 26 has many projections in a central portion of a surface opposed to the force transmission rod 50. A surface of a first pressure plate 50b of the force transmission rod 50 opposed to the first diaphragm 26 has projected portions and communicating grooves. When a parking brake is released, a second diaphragm 28 compresses a compression spring member 54. A return spring member 60 moves the force transmission rod 50 to the compression spring member 54. The reduced contact area between the first pressure plate 50b and the first diaphragm 26 smoothes the separation of the first pressure plate 50b from the first diaphragm 26. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
