PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selective water intake facility with good installation property, opening and closing operability and watertightness, and a simple lifting structure, with reduced manufacturing costs. SOLUTION: A vertical slit 4 is formed in a side wall 3a of a water intake tower 3 of a dam lake 1 or the like, and a flexible shielding membrane 5 for closing the slit 4 is suspended on the upstream side of the side wall 3a. A water intake gate 14 moved along the side wall 3a by a lifting device 28 to wind up the shielding membrane 5 is interposed between the shielding membrane 5 and the side wall 3a. The side surface and back surface of the intake gate 14 have intake 14c and 14d for introducing water taken from the side surface to the intake tower from the back surface through the slit 4.
