PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a recording medium to be detected with high precision without using a high sensitivity light reflecting sensor and even in case a platen is obliquely arranged, prevent an ink flowing down the platen from reaching/sticking to various members constituting a conveyance path. SOLUTION: In order to solve the subject, the device 1 for detecting a recording medium P is equipped with the light reflecting sensor 30 mounted on a carriage 10 reciprocating in a main scanning direction X and the platen 28 with a light receiving part 31 which receives a light irradiated from the light reflecting sensor 30. In addition, the light receiving part 31 of the platen 28 has a reflectance lowering means 32 which lowers the amount of a reflected light or a reflection rate to the light irradiated from the light reflecting sensor 30. Further, a depression part 34 formed by cutting off a conveyance rib 33 on the platen 28 in the conveyance direction of the recording medium P, is adopted as the reflectance lowering means 32. The depression part is used as a recovery groove for the ink flowing down the platen 28. Also, the recording device and the liquid injection device are provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
