PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control valve type lead-acid battery seldom leaking an inside dilute sulfuric acid electrolyte outside even if any failure is generated in a joining part of a container and a cover. SOLUTION: A power generating element such as a positive electrode plate 1 and a negative electrode plate 2 is stacked through a separator 3, lug parts 18 of each electrode plate are welded, and a stack having a lead alloy post and a strap is manufactured, The stack is housed in a polypropylene container 4, a polypropylene frame is inserted into the inside of the container 4, and the container 4 and the frame are bonded with an epoxy adhesion. Same as usual, a polypropylene cover 5 is put on the post 9, the facing part of the container 4 and the cover 5 is heat-sealed to integrate the container 4 and the cover 5.
