IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image inspection apparatus capable of more efficiently particularizing inspection and maintenance operations of a print result.

SOLUTION: A printer 10 is provided with: a print section 12 for printing an image on paper on the basis of original image data; a reader 16 for reading the image of a print result printed on the paper by the print section 12 to acquire image data; and an inspection means for inspecting the quality of the print result on the basis of the result image data, and also includes: a result information acquisition means for acquiring print result information including at least print density distribution information on the basis of the result image data; and an operation particularizing means for particularizing the maintenance operation required for a properly printed image on the basis of the print result information.
